Saw V for Vendetta tonight. Not bad- kinda cool seeing it on an IMAX screen too. Natalie Portman ("Nat" to us close friends) was excellent.

Let's see.. last week we started off at Wells College in Aurora, NY. This place has the coolest library ever. It's like a maze. And as dorky as I sound, I was still not as excited about it as Adam, who was literally calling people to talk about the architecture of the building. He out dorked me. You've won this round, Olenn.

Oh, almost forgot- on the way there, we stopped at a rest stop. Adam and I were both in the bathroom washing our hands. Now lately Adam has been very tuned in to all things baby, since he's having a baby girl in July. So occassionally we'll see a toystore or something and he'll make a comment about how he's soon gonna be spending lots of time in those places. So, standing in the bathroom that was populated by a bunch of grizzly truck driver types, here's what Adam says to me:
"So I went to the Celtics b-ball game the other night. Not a bad game, but there were these 7 to 11 year old girl dance troupes that were performing during timeouts. And they were the only thing I could concentrate on. I kept thinking, "I'm gonna HAVE me one those!"
Clearly, when taken out of context, this story has a WAY differnt meaning then what he was talking about. The look I got from the truck driver standing next to me was absolutely priceless. We hustled out of there.

Anyway, the Wells gig was fun, and I got to play on a real grand piano, which is always more fun than my keyboard. We (naturally) hightailed it over to Ithaca to recreate the amazing meal we'd had a couple weeks earlier. It was effing amazing.

Next we headed to Penn College of Technology to play/host their open mic. It was a little tricky, since I didn't really know what to say as an introduction to the student acts, considering I didn't know anything about the kids. But other than that a good time, and we got to see some kids who were performing for the first time ever, which is always a trip.

We spent St. Paddy's day at another NACA conference- the coolest part of which was that we got to see a bunch of the people we've grown to love from our NACA experience. Were we drunk enough for St. Paddy's? Well, let's just say that at 3:30 am I was utterly convinced that $7 plus $2.50 equaled $8.50, and refused to pay the $9.50 they were charging me at a diner. I'm apparently even worse at math than I am sober.
And, oh yeah, Adam nearly got arrested for chasing down a civil war reenactor in the middle of the main traffic circle. So we did it up real nice.
Ok, I'm gonna finish the rest of that trip tomorrow.
Meanwhile, here's a sign we drove by today. Maybe I should convert to Baptist.
